Kristaps Paddock, ND is the medical director and a co-founder of Charm City Natural Health (CCNH). Dr. Paddock was inspired to found CCNH because he saw a profound need for highly-trained natural health care providers in Baltimore. Previously practicing in Berkeley, California and Washington, DC, Dr. Paddock is excited to help make his community healthier through his work at CCNH.
Dr. Paddock grew up in a small town outside of Boston, where he was surrounded by farms, forests, fields, and marshes. Ever since he was a child, Dr. Paddock has drawn inspiration from the natural world around him. A passionate writer and historian, Dr. Paddock received his bachelor’s degree from Tufts University, majoring in American Studies. He had his eyes set on a career in academia until he witnessed family members suffering from chronic illnesses and experienced frustration with the medical system. Dr. Paddock decided to shift his trajectory to a career in medicine. For him, the practice of naturopathic medicine is tied to a respect for the natural processes of the world, explained and understood through science.
He attended naturopathic medical school at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. At Bastyr, he developed a set of strong clinical and diagnostic skills and a caring bedside manner. Dr. Paddock believes that his patients are more than their illness, and never loses sight of the person in front of him.
In addition to his training at Bastyr University, Dr. Paddock has expertise in classical homeopathy. He has studied extensively with, and been mentored by, Drs. Paul Herscu and Amy Rothenberg, founders of the New England School of Homeopathy (NESH). Dr Paddock has completed four years of training with NESH and continues advanced clinical training there as well. Many of Dr. Paddock’s patients seek him out for homeopathy alone, as he is known among his colleagues as an expert in this treatment modality.
Dr. Paddock is an active member of the Maryland Naturopathic Doctors Association (MNDA), where he serves as Legislative Chair, and the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP), where he currently serves on the Board of Directors. Through MNDA policy work, Dr. Paddock is able to have a broad positive effect on the health of Marylanders. His goal is to increase the accessibility of naturopathic doctors for the public so Marylanders have the same effective and safe health care as residents of many other states.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Paddock is a talented cook, avid world traveller, distance runner, and fan of the Seattle Sounders and Tottenham Hotspur F.C. He lives in Baltimore with his wife and two children.
