Licensed naturopathic doctors and psychologists providing in-person and virtual care in Maryland and beyond.
Maybe your labs are “in range.” Maybe someone said it’s just stress, or hormones, or that everything has been tested. But deep down, you know something’s still off, and you’re tired of being told “everything looks fine.”
That’s where we come in. We provide naturopathic medical care that goes beyond symptom management. Our process is investigative and patient-centered, grounded in both clinical science and whole-person care.
We’re not a large clinic or a rotating cast of providers. We’re a small, experienced team of licensed naturopathic doctors and licensed psychologists who’ve practiced together for over a decade. Our practice was founded with the belief that medicine works best when it’s both thorough and personal.
We take the time to understand how your symptoms fit into the bigger picture, and we’ve helped thousands of patients find clarity after years of frustration. Whether you’re managing a chronic condition, navigating unclear symptoms, or just looking for a more complete approach to your health, we’re here to help.
Dr. Runde brings a detail-oriented, integrative approach to care, especially for women and children navigating hormonal or digestive concerns. She’s known for her ability to piece together complex histories and guide patients through multiple overlapping conditions with clarity and compassion.
Dr. Paddock is known for his calm, big-picture approach. He works with both adults and kids, often supporting patients with chronic fatigue, cardiovascular concerns, men’s health problems, pediatric neurodevelopment conditions, and symptoms that haven’t fit into a clear diagnosis elsewhere.
Dr. Apel is passionate about empowering individuals to improve their health through talk therapy and counseling. Using her functional medicine training as a foundation, she understands how to weave lifestyle changes into her patients’ therapy goals. There is no one-size-fits-all therapy approach, and she will tailor sessions to each individual’s needs and goals.
We invest the time needed to understand your full health story so we can create a plan that actually works for you.
Our care is rooted in naturopathic philosophy, combining diagnostic training with therapies like nutrition, lifestyle changes, and natural medicines. We take a whole-person view of health, considering the physical and emotional, to help you live well.
We take a thorough and methodical approach to understanding your health. This includes reviewing your medical history and prior labs, identifying gaps in testing, and ordering additional diagnostics when appropriate. Our goal is to build a full clinical picture before proceeding with treatment.
Our goal is to figure out why you’re feeling the way you do, and to create a plan that addresses the root cause.
We offer extended visits to allow for a detailed intake and review of your records. Patients often share that this is the first time they’ve felt their concerns were fully heard and their history thoroughly reviewed.
We work within the medical system, complementing, not replacing, your existing care team. Our naturopathic training allows us to offer additional tools and perspectives that may not be offered elsewhere.
A 60 to 90-minute visit to review your history, labs, and symptoms. We’ll gather what we need and order any additional testing.
3–4 weeks later, we’ll go over results in a 45 to 60-minute visit and create a personalized care plan including natural treatment options, education, and next steps.
Follow-up visits every 2–4 months help us track progress, adjust your plan, and continue supporting your long-term health goals.
We write about the things we see in practice every day. The questions, conditions, and concerns that matter most to our patients. If you’re looking for grounded, practical guidance, start here.
